Kids Ministry Director
Hope Bible Chapel
Part-Time (15 Hours Per Week)
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Position Summary
The Kids Ministry Director provides spiritual, organizational, and relational leadership for Hope Bible Chapel’s children’s ministry (Nursery, Preschool, and K–5).
This position exists to partner with parents, equip volunteers, and create a safe, Christ-centered environment where children grow in their understanding of the Gospel and love for Jesus.
As a mobile church, this role requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a team-building mindset.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Sunday Morning Leadership
- Oversee all aspects of Sunday morning Kids Ministry (Nursery, Preschool, K–5)
- Ensure classrooms are prepared, staffed, and equipped each week
- Coordinate mobile setup and teardown needs specific to children’s ministry
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and gospel-centered environment
- Provide visible leadership and support to volunteers on Sundays
2. Event Planning and Coordination
- Work with Lead Pastor and staff team to brainstorm, plan, and organize annual events for kids and families of Hope Bible Chapel
3. Volunteer Recruitment & Development
- Recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers
- Train and equip team members in classroom management, safety procedures, and spiritual leadership
- Cultivate a healthy team culture that reflects humility, servant leadership, and joy
- Provide encouragement, appreciation, and periodic feedback to volunteers
- Ensure all volunteers meet background check and safety requirements
4. Curriculum & Discipleship Implementation
- Implement and oversee the approved curriculum
- Ensure biblical accuracy and alignment with Hope Bible Chapel’s doctrinal convictions
- Equip volunteers to teach confidently and faithfully
- Adapt curriculum as needed for a mobile environment
- Support parents with communication and resources to reinforce teaching at home
5. Administration & Communication
- Work within Planning Center to update/maintain database, check-in system
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding updates, needs, and upcoming events
- Coordinate supply needs and manage children’s ministry materials
- Maintain compliance with safety and child protection policies
Office Hours
- Required office hours on Tuesdays (time coordinated with Lead Pastor)
- Participate in staff meetings as scheduled
- Provide regular updates to the Lead Pastor
Time Commitment (15 Hours Weekly – Estimated Breakdown)
- Sunday Morning: 3–4 hours
- Tuesday Office Hours: 6 hours
- Volunteer coordination, preparation, and communication: 3–5 hours

- Experience working with children and leading volunteers
