Position Overview

As the Pastor of Community and Discipleship, your primary purpose is to guide people into a deeper and more authentic relationship with God and the family of believers at Hope Bible Chapel. This role centers on leading and growing our small groups and discipleship ministry, equipping and overseeing connection teams, and assisting in general pastoral responsibilities.


Job Responsibilities & Description

1. Small Groups & Discipleship Oversight

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and development of our church’s small group ministry.
  • Lead, train, and empower small group leaders to care well for those in their group
  • Challenge small group leaders to recognize and raise up apprentices within their group for the goal of multiplication
  • Work alongside the lead pastor to develop weekly small group discussion content
  • Oversee and further develop our soul care leaders (more intensive, one on one discipleship)
  • Expand the types of groups we offer to meet people in different stages of life and faith development.
  • Regularly evaluate group health and alignment with the overall vision of following Jesus in every part of life.
  • Work alongside the elders in the development of coaches within the small groups ministry


2. Connection Teams

Sunday Morning Welcome Team

  • Lead an effective and warm welcome team—training leaders and team members to cultivate a culture of hospitality.
  • Work with key leaders to coordinate service logistics (e.g. set‑up, security, welcome and hospitality.)

Making Hope Home

  • Oversee and facilitate our Making Hope Home (Next Steps) classes, designed to introduce people to the church's mission, values, and ways to get involved. Making Hope Home serves as the “on ramp” into greater community engagement at Hope Bible Chapel.
  • Help people find their place within the church community by connecting them with small groups, serve teams, or other ministries based on their interests and needs.

Follow Up

  • Maintain and develop a follow-up team of volunteers who connect with the following:
  • First time guest
  • Missed attendance
  • Prayer requests

3. Other Pastoral Responsibilities

Occasional preaching on Sunday mornings throughout the year as well as teaching in other venues.

  • Hosting and vision casting in the weekend gatherings
  • Provide pastoral care: counsel, pray, support leaders and church family.
  • Participate in staff team meetings.
  • Serve at special events such as outreach, trainings, special focuses; etc
  • Help the church grow missionally with greater presence and influence in the broader White Lake community

Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships.

Commitment to personal spiritual growth and the church's mission.

Administrative Assistant








Position Title: Administrative Assistant

Hours: 10 hours per week

Reports to: Lead Pastor


Position Overview

The Church Administrative Assistant is to provide administrative support to the Lead Pastor, and the staff, and play a crucial role in managing the smooth operation of the church and church office, managing key administrative tasks, and facilitating effective communication both internally and externally. This position requires exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the church office, ensuring it is organized, welcoming and efficient.

• Answer and screen phone calls, emails, and inquiries, providing information and assistance as needed.

• Draft, edit, and proofread various documents, including letters, reports and announcements and create google docs/spreadsheets as necessary.

• Maintain and update church records, and database.

• Manage scheduling appointments, meetings, and events for church staff and leadership.

• Responsible for church facility requests and schedules.

• Oversee communication to the church body - emails, letters, app notifications, etc.

• Attend staff meetings - take notes, create agendas, send recaps

• File and protect all church records, paperwork, etc.

• Check and distribute mail daily, make copies, printing, and running errands as needed.

• Oversee church printing needs: weekly study guide and other resources

• Willing to perform other duties the lead pastor requests.



Communication

• Act as a central point of contact for members, visitors, and vendors, ensuring a warm and helpful environment.

• Oversee and disseminate church information through various communication channels, such as newsletters, social media, emails, and apps.

• Collaborate with the church leadership team to ensure timely and clear communication of important updates and events.

• Assist church members and ministries with requests made to the church office as requested and communicate decisions about the requests.


Manage Church Events

• Manages (along with staff) Church events, meetings, and special functions (include creating events on the church center app).

• Manage logistics for events, including scheduling reservations, and coordination of staff and volunteers.

• Manage supplies and materials for each event.

• Help coordinate funerals, weddings, meal trains, and other activities


Financial Responsibilities

• File organization and retention

• On a weekly basis enter giving data into PCO, pick up bank bag/files

• On a monthly basis create financial reports and perform bank reconciliation

• On a quarterly basis, complete IRS form 941.

• On an annual basis, create and distribute contribution statements, put together payroll reports (if applicable), perform 941 and W-3 reconciliation, generate 1099’s and W-2’s, renew corporation license, etc all as needed
